Former Syracuse players excel in NCAA Tournament
Syracuse basketball is facing some tough times, missing the NCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive year. This has disappointed many fans, especially as they watch former players shine on other teams during March Madness. Kadary Richmond, who played for Syracuse in the 2020 season, is now making a big impact at St. John's. He averages 12.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game. Richmond has helped lead St. John's to one of its best seasons in years. They are set to play against Arkansas, a challenging matchup. Quadir Copeland, another former Syracuse player now at McNeese State, is also making headlines. McNeese, a 12-seed, upset 5-seed Clemson in a thrilling game where Copeland scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Copeland played for Syracuse in the 2022-23 season, where he showed promise but did not get major playing time. Duke's Maliq Brown is injured but hopes to return soon to help his team in the tournament. Brown has been a valuable backup for Duke, which aims for the national title. While Syracuse fans can't see their team in the tournament, they are excited about the future. Kiyan Anthony, son of Syracuse legend Carmelo Anthony, will join the Orange next winter. For now, fans must watch their former players do well elsewhere in the tournament.
