Former Texas police officer indicted for deadly crash that killed mother and son
A former police officer from Missouri City, Texas, Blademir Viveros, was arrested on Wednesday after being indicted for manslaughter. He faces two counts of manslaughter and one count of aggravated assault related to a crash that killed a mother and her son. The incident occurred on June 20 when Viveros, responding to a robbery call, collided with Angela Stewart and her 16-year-old son, Mason, as they exited a parking lot. Both victims died at the scene, and Viveros was reportedly speeding without his emergency lights on. Viveros' bond is set at $800,000. The Stewart family expressed their grief and called for accountability following the tragic loss. A court date for Viveros has not yet been scheduled.
