Fort Bend County deputy dies in Sugar Land motorcycle crash
An off-duty deputy from Fort Bend County, Texas, was killed in a motorcycle crash over the weekend. The accident happened on Sunday night around 11:43 p.m. on Highway 59 at U.S. 90 in Sugar Land. Authorities said the motorcycle hit the back of another vehicle. The deputy was rushed to the hospital but sadly died from his injuries. Fortunately, the passengers in the car were not hurt. The deputy was identified as Marcelo Garcia. He joined the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office in April 2012 and held several positions, including roles as a detention deputy and a patrol deputy. Recently, he worked in the Traffic Enforcement Unit. The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office released a statement expressing deep sadness over Garcia's passing. They offered prayers and condolences to his family and friends, honoring his service and sacrifice.
