Fort Dorchester baseball team remains unbeaten this season
Fort Dorchester is having a successful start to their baseball season. The team is currently undefeated, with a 7-0 record. Coach Ronnie Sayer is pleased with their performance so far. He notes that the team's chemistry is strong, and their pitching has been impressive. In their recent games, Fort Dorchester defeated Oceanside Collegiate, a top-ranked team, with a score of 9-5. Sophomore Daniel Schenk pitched well, allowing no hits and just one run. Junior Cannon Corder contributed significantly with two hits, while senior Banks Wickersham had three RBIs. Earlier, the Patriots also won against Stratford in a closely contested match, finishing with an 8-7 score. Senior RJ Hamilton was effective on the mound, allowing only two hits. The team has also secured victories against North Myrtle Beach, Cheraw, East Forsyth, and Palmetto. The pitching staff is led by Hamilton and another senior, Carson Ridgway. Juniors like Wickersham and Thomas Wamer will also pitch frequently. Several players, including Corder and others, are contributing in the field as well. Fort Dorchester's upcoming matches will challenge them further. They are set to face strong teams like James Island and Ashley Ridge this week. The schedule includes home and away games, all starting at 7 p.m. The team is looking forward to continuing their winning streak against tough competition.
