Four airlines offer business class from Heathrow to LAX
Four airlines are currently flying business class from London Heathrow to Los Angeles. These include two U.S. airlines, American Airlines and United Airlines, and two British carriers, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic. In March 2025, these airlines will operate a total of 259 flights and provide over 14,600 business class seats. American Airlines operates two flights daily, totaling 62 flights for the month. They use Boeing 777-200ER and 777-300ER jets, offering 37 and 52 business class seats, respectively. The airline features different seat configurations, with options converting into 6’7” flat beds. British Airways has the highest capacity, providing just over half of the month’s business class seats. They operate the Boeing 777-300ER with 76 business class seats, along with the Airbus A380, which has 97 seats. The A380 includes first-class suites, offering more personal space. United Airlines operates one daily flight using the Boeing 787-9, providing 48 business class seats. Their Polaris business class seats fully convert into flat beds. Virgin Atlantic also operates two aircraft types, the Boeing 787-9 and the Airbus A350-1000. The 787-9 has 31 business class seats, while the A350 features 44 seats that convert into 82" beds. Virgin Atlantic's A350s include a social space called "The Loft" for passengers. In summary, British Airways leads in business class capacity, while United, Virgin Atlantic, and American Airlines cover the remaining seats. Both British Airways and American Airlines offer first-class suites on the route.
