Four arrested for kidnapping and raping 11-year-old
Pune police have arrested a 24-year-old man for allegedly kidnapping and raping an 11-year-old girl from his neighborhood. Three others were also taken into custody, including the man's friend and the hotel owner and manager where the crime took place. The incident occurred after the girl's parents had left for work on Friday. They left her and her sister at home. The suspect lured the girl outside and offered her a ride on his motorcycle, which was driven by his friend. They took her to a hotel near Khadakwasla Dam, where the assault happened. When the girl's family returned home and found her missing, they reported it to the police. Authorities tracked the suspect's cellphone and located them at the hotel. Police discovered that the hotel's manager had allowed the suspects to rent a room without proper identification or age verification. Inspector Nilesh Badakh highlighted the negligence of the hotel staff, who failed to follow rules regarding guest registrations. The suspect later claimed he intended to take the girl to his hometown in Uttar Pradesh. The investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to ensure accountability.
