Four arrested for murder in Bronx apartment shooting
Four people have been charged in the murder of Xavier "Zay" Goodson, a 32-year-old Bronx man. Goodson was shot in the eye during an incident at his apartment on E. 231st St. on March 20. The suspects include Jahiem Pasco, 22, Jaire Drakes, 20, Naesean Jackson, 20, and Kelvin Woods, 20. They are facing charges of murder, manslaughter, and weapons possession. Police say there may have been two shooters involved. When officers arrived, they found shell casings from two different guns at the scene. Goodson was shot multiple times and was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where he later died. Family members said Drakes is Goodson’s cousin and had been living with him. Goodson had previously expressed frustration about Drakes inviting friends over and using drugs. A motive for the shooting has not been revealed. Goodson had a troubled past, serving six years in prison for manslaughter after a shooting incident in 2013. He was released on parole in March 2022. Despite past issues, his family said he was trying to turn his life around, planning to start a business and leave the city with his fiancée and two daughters. Goodson's uncle described him as a “good kid” who was making positive changes in his life. The investigation is ongoing, and the arraignment for the suspects is expected soon.
