Four arrested for robberies in Pune's Mahalunge MIDC
Police in Mahalunge MIDC have arrested four men suspected of robbing industrial workers in the area. The gang was involved in six different robberies and vehicle thefts. The accused are Krishna Saurate, 19, Bhimrao Munde, 21, Deepak Bhagat, 24, and Hrishikesh Mali, 21. They are all from Khed taluka. The arrests were made by a team led by senior inspector Nitin Gite. Investigators recovered a stolen autorickshaw and motorcycle, valued at 2.45 lakh rupees. The inquiry began after a 31-year-old man from Dehu reported that he was assaulted and robbed of his motorcycle and cellphone on March 11. Assistant police inspector Kalyan Ghagde noted that the police tracked down the suspects by locating the stolen cellphone. During questioning, the men admitted they stole vehicles to commit more crimes. Ghadge explained that the arrested individuals came to Mahalunge MIDC looking for work but instead turned to robbery. He added that two more suspects are still at large and will be apprehended soon.
