Four arrested for stealing water pump sets in Mauaima

Prayagraj police have arrested four members of a gang involved in stealing water pump sets from fields. The arrests happened on Sunday near Mahrauda crossing. The gang targeted pumping sets in the trans-Ganga and trans-Yamuna areas mostly at night. The suspects planned to sell off parts from the stolen pumps. Police recovered several dismantled parts from eight different pumping sets along with an auto vehicle. The arrested individuals are Hanumat Singh, Shiv Shankar, Pintoo Saroj, and Ranjeet Kumar. They confessed that they would scout the locations of the pumps during the day and steal them at night. The investigation began after a local farmer reported the theft of his pump set. This incident took place in Maganpur village on the night of March 19-20. The police are now looking into further details of this gang's activities.
