Four injured, one critically, in Verona shooting

Four people were injured in a shooting outside a party venue in Verona, New Jersey, on Saturday night. The incident took place just before 11 p.m. at Palmetto Venues, located at 10 Park Place. One victim, 41, was shot multiple times in the stomach and remains in critical condition at a local hospital. Police reported that the shooting began after a verbal argument between two men escalated. The situation turned violent when one of the men pulled out a gun, leading to an exchange of gunfire among three suspects. Witnesses described a chaotic scene, with people screaming and fighting outside the venue. In addition to the critically injured man, two others were also hurt. A 41-year-old man was shot in the leg, while a 30-year-old woman suffered a leg injury as well. Both of these victims were treated at local hospitals and have since been discharged. The Verona Police Department is investigating the shooting and has identified at least three suspects. As part of the investigation, Palmetto Venues has been temporarily closed. Local residents are concerned about safety at the venue and have expressed mixed feelings about its future. The township is scheduled to hold a town hall meeting on Monday evening to discuss the shooting and its implications.
