France updates mpox vaccination strategy amid rising cases
EURACTIV — September 3, 2024, 05:00 PM UTC
France has revised its mpox vaccination strategy due to rising cases in Central Africa linked to clade I and Ib variants. The World Health Organization declared a Public Health Emergency on August 14. While the risk of spread in France is low, authorities recommend vaccination for at-risk groups, including men who have sex with men and sex workers. France has sufficient vaccine stocks, with 126 clade II cases reported this year.
