Frank Lampard may return to Chelsea from Coventry
Frank Lampard may return to Chelsea as manager, according to his former teammate William Gallas. Lampard is currently coaching Coventry City and has made a strong start in the Championship. His work at Coventry is helping to rebuild his coaching reputation after two challenging stints at Chelsea. Lampard first managed Chelsea from 2019 to 2021, where he promoted young players like Reece James and Mason Mount. However, he lost his job after a poor season. His second spell as caretaker manager in 2023 also ended badly, with just one win in eleven games after Graham Potter was sacked. Before Coventry, Lampard managed Everton, where he helped the team avoid relegation but was dismissed for poor performance in his second season. Currently, he has led Coventry to fifth place in the Championship, putting them in play-off contention. Gallas believes that if Lampard can help Coventry reach the Premier League, it would be great for his career. He feels this success could open doors for Lampard to manage Chelsea again one day. Coventry recently secured a win against Sunderland, and Lampard praised his team's performance and growing confidence. He acknowledged the challenges ahead but is optimistic about maintaining their form to secure a play-off spot.
