Fred Kerley aims to break Usain Bolt's 100m world record after setbacks in New York
Fred Kerley, the Olympic silver medalist, believes he can break Usain Bolt's 100m world record of 9.58 seconds. He claims he would have already done so if not for setbacks, including a recent incident at the New York City Grand Prix. During the Grand Prix, Kerley faced issues with his starting blocks and chose not to race after discussions with officials. Following this, he ended his contract with Asics and remains focused on achieving the world record. Kerley also expressed confidence in defeating 100m gold medalist Noah Lyles in a head-to-head 150m race. He suggested that such matchups could enhance the sport and indicated he could surpass Lyles' best time of 14.41 seconds.
