Freeview adds two new channels for British viewers
Freeview will soon add two new channels, bringing total new channels to 17 in just a few days. This follows a major upgrade to Freeview boxes. Ofcom has granted broadcasting licenses to Euronews and Trace Music. These channels will be accessible to viewers with compatible Freeview and Freely TVs that connect to both an aerial and Wi-Fi. For now, these channels are available in the Channelbox portal but will be included in the main channel guide soon. Last week, Freeview viewers gained 15 new channels through Freeview Play. This platform offers various on-demand apps. The channels include popular shows like Police Interceptors, GPs Behind Closed Doors, and Catfish, among others. While users may not see these new channels immediately, they will become available over the next few days to weeks. Devices should update automatically, but users can check for updates manually in the settings by looking for a software update. Freeview is becoming popular for its wide selection of content. In addition to news and music, it continues to offer gripping dramas like All Creatures Great and Small and The Drowning.
