Freight train derailment in Pecos, Texas, causes building collapses and one death

A freight train derailed in Pecos, Texas, on Wednesday, causing nearby buildings to partially collapse. Eyewitness video showed dust clouds as train cars went off track. One person died, and one was seriously injured. The derailment occurred around 5 p.m. after the train struck a tractor trailer. Three others sustained minor injuries and were treated locally. Three train cars carried potentially hazardous materials, but there were no breaches. Only diesel fuel leaked from the engine.
