Fretless RPG adds new soundtrack guests, releases May 15
Fretless - The Wrath of Riffson, a new musical turn-based RPG, has announced its release date. The game will be available on PC starting May 15, 2025. This announcement came during the Future Games Show. Along with the release date, developer Ritual Studios revealed two special guests for the game's soundtrack. Metal band Cult of Luna and guitarist-producer Rabea Massaad will contribute to the game's music. This adds to an already impressive lineup that includes Northlane, Andrew Huang, and Davie 504. A trailer released during the showcase provides a glimpse of the soundtrack and features two bosses that players will encounter in the game. In Fretless, players step into the shoes of Rob, a musician on a quest to restore harmony to the world. The villain, Rick Riffson, has been stealing the souls of talented musicians. Players will collect riffs and build songs to defeat their enemies. The game features four instruments, each offering unique strategies and abilities. Players must also keep the rhythm to succeed in battles. The game will feature beautiful pixel art inspired by music themes, influenced by American musician Rob Scallon. Fretless will be available for purchase on Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store.
