Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) has commenced the removal of radioactive debris from the Fukushima nuclear plant, following a delay due to technical issues. The pilot operation aims to extract three grams of debris for analysis, part of a larger effort to decommission the site, where 880 tons of hazardous material remain. The Fukushima disaster occurred in March 2011 after a tsunami triggered reactor meltdowns.
