Funeral held for Kiley Armstrong and Evan Fiore

A funeral was held on Friday for Kiley Armstrong, 21, and Evan Fiore, 23, who died in a car crash on March 7. The service took place at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Toms River and was attended by over 250 people. Kiley’s identical twin sister, Krista, who was also injured in the crash, arrived in a wheelchair. Her boyfriend, Ryan Chapman, remains hospitalized. Reverend G. Scott Shaffer spoke during the service, saying, “For Evan and Kiley, life has changed, yes, but it has not ended.” After his remarks, doves were released in their memory. Obituaries for the couple highlighted their close relationship. Kiley’s tribute mentioned their deep love and connection, while Evan’s noted that he found “the love of his life.” Friends remembered them fondly. Mike Rufano, 19, said they were all happy together and described Evan as focused and a good person. The crash occurred late at night at an intersection in Toms River. The couples were returning from a hockey game when a teen driver, who was being pursued by police, crashed into them at high speeds. The driver is facing serious charges, including two counts of aggravated manslaughter. His identity has not been released because he is a minor, and his case is still ongoing.
