Future Games Show Spring Showcase 2025 revealed eight new games
The Future Games Show Spring Showcase 2025 has concluded. This year's event featured around 50 games, but only eight were brand new announcements. A newly revealed game is one that has not been showcased before. Most games presented had prior updates or release date announcements. One of the new games is "Lost Rift," a survival game by People Can Fly. It is set on a desert island and will feature both player versus player (PvP) and player versus environment (PvE) gameplay. The game is expected to enter Steam Early Access later this year. Another highlight is "I Hate This Place," an open-world survival horror game by Bloober Team. This single-player experience is inspired by a comic book series and is set to release on PC later in 2025. The asymmetrical puzzle game "Elsewhere Electric" was also revealed. Players will work together to solve puzzles in a co-op mode, using a mobile phone and VR. It is scheduled for release in Summer 2025. In "Shelf Heroes," players can create toy characters and explore a house in co-op mode. The game will offer various weapon options, but does not yet have a release date. "Romestead" is another game where players rebuild a Roman empire while fighting zombies. This title is looking for participants for a closed alpha test and will launch on PC via Steam. "Frosthaven" is an adaptation of the board game Gloomhaven. It allows players to create characters and engage in tactical combat. The game is set to come soon to PC. "A Kingdom on the Distant Shores" lets players build a cartoon empire. The game combines elements of RPGs and city-building, and is expected to be released in 2026. Lastly, "Painkiller" is making a return, with players battling demonic foes in co-op mode. The game is expected on PC and consoles in Fall 2025.
