Galvin, the chaser, officially retires after successful career

Trainer Gordon Elliott has announced the retirement of Galvin, a successful racehorse. The 11-year-old chaser earned over €500,000 during his career. A highlight of his achievements was winning the Savills Chase in 2021, where he beat A Plus Tard. Galvin also won the National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in 2021 and came in second at the American Grand National last October. In total, he won 13 out of 32 races. His last race was the Cross Country Chase at Cheltenham, where he was pulled up due to lameness. Galvin had notable performances, including a fourth-place finish in last year's Grand National. He was also competitive in the 2022 Gold Cup, finishing fourth again. Elliott shared a tribute to Galvin on X, stating, "Happy retirement to Galvin," and thanked him for the memories. Galvin will retire with his owner, Ronnie Bartlett.
