Gang attack on history sheeter leaves one dead, wife injured

A man from Salem, known for his criminal history, was killed on the Salem-Coimbatore Highway. This happened near Nasiyanur. His wife was also injured in the attack. The police are now investigating the incident. The victim, Chanakya, also called John, was 35 years old. He and his wife, Saranya, were driving home after a visit to the police station when they were targeted. A group of attackers followed them and crashed their car into John's vehicle. They then assaulted him, resulting in his death. Saranya was hurt while trying to protect him. After the attack, the suspects fled the scene. However, police caught up with them later. Bhavani Police Deputy Superintendent Rathinakumar shot three suspects in the legs as they tried to escape near Pachappali. They have been arrested and are receiving medical care at a local hospital. John was known to have multiple criminal cases against him. He operated a loan business for vehicles. The investigation into his murder is being led by Erode district Superintendent of Police G Jawahar.
