Garba Lawal warns Super Eagles about Rwanda match challenges
Former Nigerian football star Garba Lawal has warned the Super Eagles that their upcoming match against Rwanda will not be easy. He emphasized the team's need for full commitment and focus to secure three points from the game. The Super Eagles will face the Amavubi on March 21 at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali. This match is crucial, as Nigeria risks missing out on consecutive FIFA World Cups. Currently, the team is in a tough spot on the qualifiers table after four matches. Lawal believes that a win in Kigali could change the team's fortunes. He urged the players to treat each game as a "cup final" and play with determination. He said, "Three points away from home won’t be easy, but winning these matches will change the table." He also stressed the importance of supporting Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, especially at this critical time. Lawal expressed confidence in the players but warned against complacency. Nigeria currently sits fifth in their group, with only three points. Additionally, former Super Eagles goalkeeper Dele Aiyenugba praised the team's goalkeeping trio. He defended Kayode Bankole from Remo Stars against unfair criticism and recognized the talent of Amas Obasogie. The Super Eagles will look to build momentum as they prepare for their matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe later this month.
