Garth Brooks sues woman over sexual assault allegations claiming emotional distress
Garth Brooks has filed a lawsuit against a woman who accused him of sexual assault, claiming her allegations caused him emotional distress. The woman, identified as Jane Roe, alleged that Brooks assaulted her in 2019 and made inappropriate comments while she worked for him. Brooks denied the allegations and labeled the lawsuit as extortion. He is seeking damages for emotional distress, defamation, and invasion of privacy, as well as punitive damages. He previously filed a separate lawsuit to stop what he called false allegations against him. The woman’s lawyers expressed support for her decision to come forward, stating that sexual predators exist in all areas, including country music. Brooks has stated he trusts the legal system and maintains his innocence.
