Gavin Crosisca admits to using drugs during AFL games

Gavin Crosisca, a former star player for the Collingwood AFL team, has openly admitted to using drugs during his career. The 56-year-old, who played 264 games and won a premiership in 1990, confessed to snorting speed in the toilets while he was an assistant coach at North Melbourne in the early 2000s. Crosisca shared that after retiring, he struggled to cope and turned to drugs to manage his feelings. He described an unhealthy addiction that lasted for eight years, despite having a family and a stable life. He admitted to using speed before games and even during matches, often being the last to return to the field after halftime. He revealed that his addiction affected his life immensely. Crosisca felt mentally trapped and powerless against his cravings. At one point, he even planned a robbery of a pub he co-owned to fund his drug habit. After many struggles, Crosisca turned his life around and now works as a director at a rehabilitation center. He has been open about his past struggles since 2012 and aims to help others. He gained respect after assisting singer Kate DeAraugo in overcoming her own drug problems, showing that he understands the challenges of addiction firsthand.
