G.E.M. buys Hong Kong flats at 35% discount

Cantopop singer G.E.M. has purchased two flats in Hong Kong for a total of HK$85 million (about US$10.9 million). This transaction took place earlier this month, as recorded by the government. G.E.M., whose real name is Gloria Tang Tze-kei, took advantage of current market conditions. The flats were bought at a 35% discount compared to prices three years ago. The properties are located in Leon Court on Wong Nai Chung Gap Road in Wan Chai. The two flats, totaling 2,480 square feet, were combined by the previous owner into a duplex. A similar unit in the same building sold for HK$65 million in 2022, highlighting the discount G.E.M. received. Many celebrities in Hong Kong see property as a popular investment choice.
