Georgia Tech names Zach Pyron starting quarterback against Notre Dame after Haynes King's injury

Georgia Tech will start Zach Pyron at quarterback against #12 Notre Dame after Haynes King suffered an upper body injury. King had started 20 consecutive games, marking the longest streak for a Tech quarterback since 2016. Pyron, who has two career starts, last played as a starter during his freshman season. He has participated in every game this season, primarily in short yardage situations, and has thrown for 64 yards with one touchdown. True freshman Aaron Philo is expected to back up Pyron for the game. King had a strong season, throwing eight touchdowns and only one interception before his injury.
