Beth Mooney praised young cricketer Georgia Voll after she scored her first T20 international fifty during their match against New Zealand. The two players put together a strong opening partnership of 123 runs in just over ten overs, helping Australia chase down a target of 138 runs. After this series, Australia won't play any T20 matches in 2025, with only six games planned in early 2026. Voll, who is seen as a potential long-term replacement for Alyssa Healy, impressed with her aggressive batting style. She hit nine boundaries in her 31-ball innings, showcasing her ability to handle pressure at the international level. Mooney noted that Voll’s fearless approach is a valuable asset for the team. Mooney herself achieved a milestone by playing in her 200th international match, scoring an unbeaten 75 runs. She is now closing in on becoming Australia’s all-time leading run-scorer in T20s, just 116 runs behind Meg Lanning. The Australian team will continue their T20 series against New Zealand with two more matches scheduled. The next game will take place on March 23 at Bay Oval in Tauranga.
