German man arrested for assaulting dentists in Thailand
A German man has been arrested in Thailand for allegedly attacking several dentists. The police took 41-year-old Matthias Ebner into custody at a shopping mall parking lot on Tuesday evening. He was arrested after fleeing his home upon learning that a warrant had been issued for him. Ebner faces multiple charges, including trespassing, assault, and causing property damage. Authorities plan to request a 12-day extension of his detention. They will likely oppose his release on bail. After his arrest, Ebner admitted to being the person named in the warrant but chose not to make further statements, stating he would do so in court. Police are also seeking to cancel his visa, which he has been renewing yearly. This action comes as he is deemed a danger to the public. Ebner's wife claims he suffers from a mental illness but does not take any medication. The first complaint against him was filed by a woman dentist in November. She accused him of physically assaulting her after he broke into her clinic. Since then, additional complaints have been made by other dentists, and police are now gathering information from those involved.
