Ghaziabad man kills daughter, blames neighbor falsely
A man in Ghaziabad has been arrested for allegedly raping and strangling his seven-year-old daughter. The incident took place in the Loni Border area. Police say the man initially tried to blame a neighbor for the girl's death. According to Assistant Police Commissioner Ajay Kumar Singh, the father, Gyan Singh, claimed that his daughter died on March 12 after eating kadhi (curry) from their neighbor, Shanti Devi. He also said that his wife and five other children became ill from the same food. Following his complaint, police arrested Shanti Devi. The girl was taken to GTB Hospital in Delhi, where she was declared dead. The other children received treatment and were later discharged. Gyan Singh refused to allow a post-mortem on his daughter’s body and brought it back home. However, police became suspicious and ordered a post-mortem at a local hospital. The medical report indicated that the girl had been sexually assaulted and strangled. On March 17, police arrested Gyan Singh near GDA Park. During questioning, he confessed to raping his daughter out of "sexual excitement" and then strangling her. He admitted that he fabricated the story to frame his neighbor.
