GHMC to renovate Gudimalkapur's Kumandan Bowli stepwell
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) plans to renovate a historic stepwell located at Gudimalkapur. This stepwell, known as Kumandan Bowli, will undergo development through funds provided by the Indian School of Hyderabad. The estimated cost for the renovation is ₹1.5 crore. Nirman, a non-governmental organization, will manage the renovation work. The Zonal Commissioner of Khairatabad will sign a memorandum of understanding with the NGO to begin this project. The newly elected GHMC standing committee approved this proposal, along with seven others, during a meeting on Saturday. Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi and Commissioner K. Ilambarithi led the meeting, which recognized the committee's new members. Going forward, the standing committee will hold its meetings on Thursdays. Other proposals approved included land allocation for a new fire station in Alwal and funding for road and drainage construction in Chandrayangutta.
