Giants unlikely to trade up for No. 1 pick
The New York Giants hold the No. 3 overall pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft. There were hopes that the team might trade up to secure the No. 1 pick, but those plans seem to have fallen apart. Recent reports suggest that after the Giants could not acquire quarterback Matthew Stafford from the Rams, their strategy changed. ESPN's Jordan Ranaan stated on a podcast that it's unlikely the Giants will get the top draft pick. He mentioned that their original Plan A, to trade for Stafford, is no longer viable. Plan B, to trade up for the No. 1 pick, appears to be dead as well. The Tennessee Titans currently own the top pick, followed by the Cleveland Browns at No. 2, and the Giants at No. 3. Earlier in the offseason, it was reported that the Titans might be willing to trade their top pick. However, they have not made efforts to sign a leading quarterback in free agency, which may indicate they are keeping their options open.
