Glasgow confirms ten sports for 2026 Commonwealth Games
Glasgow has been confirmed as the host for the 2026 Commonwealth Games, scheduled from July 23 to August 2. The event will feature a reduced program of ten sports, excluding diving, hockey, and badminton, following the withdrawal of Victoria, Australia. The Games will include compulsory sports like athletics and swimming, along with track cycling, gymnastics, netball, weightlifting, boxing, judo, bowls, and 3×3 basketball. Integrated para events will be held in six of these sports. Around 3,000 athletes from up to 74 nations are expected to participate. Events will take place at four venues within an eight-mile area, with over 500,000 tickets available for spectators.
