GlobalPort debuts in US Open Polo Championship

Philippine polo is reaching a new milestone as GlobalPort prepares to compete in the US Open Polo Championship. Their debut is set for Wednesday in Wellington, Florida. This makes GlobalPort the first team from the Philippines to participate in this prestigious tournament. Led by Mikee Romero, GlobalPort faces tough competition. They have been placed in Bracket I, which includes strong teams like Clearwater and La Dolfina Catamount. This bracket is considered very challenging. GlobalPort’s first match will be against La Dolfina Tamera, led by world No. 1 player Adolfo Cambiaso Jr., who recently won the C.V. Whitney Cup. Romero expressed the difficulty of their draw, calling it the "bracket of death" due to the presence of champion teams. After their opener, GlobalPort will play BTA on March 30 and finish the group stage against Park Place on April 5. Park Place, with world No. 6 Hilario Ulloa, is also one of the tournament favorites. Despite the challenges, GlobalPort is not merely an underdog. The team includes top players like world No. 4 Bartolome Castagnola and others.
