Gloucestershire plans new safety measures for A-roads
Gloucestershire plans to improve safety on two A-roads after 34 serious collisions since 2020. Average speed cameras will be added on the A436, and the speed limit on the A46 will be reduced from 50mph to 40mph. The A436 has seen 13 fatal or serious injury incidents, while the A46 has had 10. The new measures aim to address speeding, which has been a major factor in these accidents. Installation of the cameras and speed limit changes will begin next month, costing about £400,000. The local council emphasizes that these steps are crucial for enhancing road safety.
