GMKtec's mini PC excels at 1440p gaming performance
GMKtec has unveiled a new mini PC prototype that showcases remarkable integrated graphics performance. This machine can run demanding video games at 1440p with over 60 frames per second (fps). It is powered by an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU, which includes 16 cores and a Radeon 8060S integrated graphics unit. The mini PC was able to run popular games like Cyberpunk 2077 at an average of 80 fps and Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced Edition at 90 fps. The performance remains high in games with advanced graphics settings, such as God of War Ragnarök and Doom Eternal. However, some newer games, like Marvel's Spider-Man 2, needed some graphical techniques to maintain performance. The AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU is designed for high-performance tasks while running at 140 watts, which allows it to compete with traditional graphics cards in this compact form factor. While the mini PC's pricing and release date are still unknown, it aims to provide an affordable gaming option for living rooms. This prototype highlights advancements in integrated graphics, showing that small machines can deliver impressive gaming experiences without needing separate graphics cards.
