Goa to auction inoperative government vehicles in April
The state government will hold on-site auctions for inoperative vehicles in April, according to waste management minister Atanasio Monserrate. Vehicles will be moved to a central location for display, and bidders must attend to place their bids. Bidders will inspect vehicles and submit bids in a bowl. After bidding closes, a government officer will announce the winner, who must pay immediately to take possession of the vehicle. This auction aims to clear unused vehicles from public spaces. The government also plans to scrap over 500,000 old vehicles in five years to reduce pollution and promote eco-friendly vehicles.
