Goa to revive international convention center project

timesofindia.indiatimes.com

The Goa government has decided to revive the construction of a 5,000-seat international convention center at Dona Paula, nearly two years after it was scrapped. The project will be developed through a public-private partnership and is valued at Rs 540 crore. The convention center will include over 300 rooms and a multiplex with 800 seats. The government plans to issue a tender for construction soon. Previous attempts to move forward with the project faced issues with bidders failing to meet requirements. Officials believe the new center will enhance Panaji's infrastructure for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions, supporting tourism and economic growth in the region.
