Visitors to the Gold Coast can now explore the area's indigenous heritage through the Walkabout tour at the Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Centre. This tour offers insights into the Kombumerri clan, who have lived in the region for thousands of years. The tour includes a guided walk through Burleigh Head National Park, highlighting traditional fishing spots and ancient midden sites. Participants learn about the local environment and its significance to the Kombumerri people. The Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Centre is located at 1711 Gold Coast Highway, Burleigh Heads. Walkabout tours are available Monday to Saturday, lasting about two hours, with reservations recommended.
