Google Ads updates Demand Gen campaigns with channel control
Google Ads has introduced a new feature that allows advertisers to control where their ads appear in certain Demand Gen campaigns. This means advertisers can choose the specific Google platforms for their ads, such as YouTube or Gmail. However, there is a limitation. Advertisers cannot yet see performance data broken down by individual channels. Instead, all data is still grouped together under the term "Google-owned channels." This makes it hard for advertisers to adjust campaigns based on performance insights. Many in the marketing field are watching this update closely. Greg Kholer, a digital marketing director, noted on LinkedIn that while the feature is promising, his team will not make changes until they can see detailed channel performance. As a result, many advertisers are likely to wait for more information before adjusting their strategies.
