Google AI Search Mode free for all US users
Google has made its AI Mode available for all users, not just subscribers to Google One AI Premium. This change allows everyone with a Google account to ask complex questions and get detailed answers. AI Mode, introduced earlier this month, works like an AI chatbot, offering responses similar to those from ChatGPT. It aims to help users explore topics thoroughly by providing not just direct answers but also follow-up questions and useful links. For example, a user can ask about the best time for an outdoor photoshoot in Boston. The AI gives weather forecasts, suggests less busy times in the park, and even shares sunset times for optimal lighting. It can recommend photo spots too, showing its ability to grasp context and provide relevant information. The AI uses a system called Gemini 2.0, which helps it understand user questions better. This makes it different from traditional Google searches, providing a more conversational and informative experience. In the future, Google plans to enhance AI Mode with more visual responses and improved formatting. Currently, users need to sign up for Google Labs to access this feature.
