Google expands Gemini AI tools for better user experience
Google is making it easier for more people to use its Gemini AI tools. The company announced updates that enhance how users can utilize artificial intelligence for tasks like research, planning, and increasing personal productivity. One significant improvement is to Gemini’s Flash Thinking model. The upgraded version now allows file uploads and can understand up to 1 million tokens at a time. This change helps the AI deal with complex questions more effectively. Another update is the expansion of the Deep Research tool, which is now available in over 45 languages. This tool helps users collect and analyze web data, generating detailed reports with better reasoning. Initially limited to a few users, it is now available to free users a few times each month, while Advanced users have more access. Gemini will also give more personalized responses based on a user’s Google Search history. This feature can help when making restaurant choices or planning trips, but users can turn it off anytime in their settings. Additionally, Gemini is enhancing its integration with other Google apps like Calendar, Tasks, Notes, and soon, Google Photos. Users can now complete multiple steps with one command, such as finding a recipe, creating a shopping list, and locating grocery stores. It will also help create travel itineraries from previous trips and pull details from saved documents. Finally, Google is making its Gems feature, which allows users to create custom AI assistants, available for free. Users can design their own assistants for specific tasks, such as translation or fitness planning, through a simple setup process.
