Google launches Android XR for augmented and virtual reality experiences
Google has launched Android XR, a new operating system designed for augmented and virtual reality. Developed with Samsung, it differs from previous Android versions by focusing on immersive experiences rather than traditional mobile use. Currently in a developer preview, Android XR supports various tools and features. Notable enhancements include 3D Google Photos, immersive Google Maps, and a redesigned YouTube experience. It also promises compatibility with existing Android apps. Samsung will release the first device using Android XR, codenamed Project Moohan, next year. Google is also testing prototype glasses that will integrate with Android XR, allowing easy access to information and connectivity with other devices.
