Google launches Minecraft-inspired mini-game for PC and phones
Google has launched a fun mini-game based on Minecraft. You can play it on a PC or a phone, making it perfect for short breaks. To play, just search for "Minecraft" on Google. A Minecraft block icon will appear at the bottom of the screen. Click on it, and you will see the mini-game load up. In the game, you can click on search results to find Minecraft scenes full of blocks. You can start mining for blocks, and your score will be counted at the bottom-left corner. As you progress, you'll be able to upgrade your pickaxe, similar to the real Minecraft experience. Many wonder why Google created this mini-game now. Minecraft celebrated its 15th anniversary last year, but 2025 is a big year for the franchise. Recently, Minecraft Live 2025 revealed a new trailer for a Minecraft Movie, set to release on April 4. There are also major updates coming to the game, including a new "Vibrant Visuals" mode. This update will improve lighting and visuals, especially in underwater areas. It will be available for the Bedrock editions soon and may come to the Java edition later. Additionally, a new update called "Spring to Life" has been announced. It makes Minecraft biomes more distinct, with unique blocks and new sounds. A new feature called the "dried ghast" will also be introduced. Players can find the dried ghast, rehydrate it, and eventually ride it as a flying mount. Microsoft is likely focused on the upcoming Minecraft Movie. The film, starring Jack Black as Steve and Jason Momoa as Garrett Garrison, could replicate the success of other video game movies, like The Super Mario Bros Movie, which earned over £1 billion in cinemas.
