Google launches NotebookLM, an AI study assistant for students

Google has launched NotebookLM, an AI-powered note-taking app designed to assist students with their studies. Unlike traditional study methods, NotebookLM allows users to upload up to 50 sources per notebook, helping to organize and summarize materials for easier understanding. The app can create study guides, practice questions, and flashcards based on uploaded content. It also offers explanations for complex concepts and quizzes to assess knowledge retention. A new feature, Audio Overview, generates AI-created podcasts to discuss study topics in a more engaging format. NotebookLM serves as a virtual study partner, enabling students to interact and clarify doubts. This tool aims to enhance self-guided study, providing a flexible alternative to conventional study groups and tutoring sessions.
