Google Phone app enhances spam call management for users

Google is introducing new features in its Phone app to help users manage spam calls better. The update aims to categorize calls, making it easier for users to see different types of calls, such as spam and unknown numbers. Users will now see calls organized into categories like all calls, missed calls, contacts, spam, and non-spam. This change hopes to reduce the hassle of sorting through unwanted numbers. The feature was first tested by beta users but is now rolling out to all Android users. Although the app offers these helpful filters, it currently does not allow filtering based on whether a call is incoming or outgoing. The new features were first included in a recent update for beta users and are now becoming available for everyone gradually. This update is part of Google's ongoing effort to reduce spam calls and improve the overall experience for users. One other feature, called Call Screen, helps users decide whether to answer calls from unknown numbers. It can identify the caller and even provide a transcript of the conversation.
