Google redesigns Android backup interface for better usability
Google is updating the backup interface for Android users to make it more user-friendly. The new design aims to provide a cleaner and more organized view of backup options. This update is part of the beta version 25.11.32 of Google Play Services. Users can access the backup page through the Settings app by navigating to System > Backup. This page helps users manage data backed up to their Google Accounts, such as apps, contacts, and messages. The updated backup interface is still being developed and doesn't include some features yet. For example, users currently cannot back up data using a limited data connection. There have also been reports of crashes in the beta version, which is common during testing periods. In addition to the backup redesign, Google is working on new features for Android Desktop Mode. This feature allows some Android devices to create a desktop-like experience when connected to an external display, keyboard, and mouse. While the timeline for the release of the new backup interface and Android 16 is unclear, it is expected that both will be available by the end of this year.
