Government takes steps to restore peace in Manipur
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) announced on Sunday that the Indian government has taken important steps to restore normalcy in Manipur. This news has raised hopes for peace in the troubled region. RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale shared that the government has imposed President's rule, suspended the state government, and taken measures like disarming locals and reopening highways. He expressed satisfaction that these actions are providing relief to the people of Manipur. Hosabale emphasized the importance of resolving issues quickly. While the RSS has suggested that the government should act, they have not specified what actions should be taken. Hosabale reiterated that it is up to the government to make decisions based on the current situation. Regarding the Malegaon blast case, Hosabale did not comment on specific developments as the matter is being handled in court. A lawyer for one of the accused previously indicated that an Anti-Terrorism Squad officer had been told to arrest RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in connection with the case in 2008. On the topic of the BJP presidential election, Hosabale mentioned that the RSS supports many independent organizations. He stated that these groups operate autonomously and do not need to seek approval from the RSS for their activities. He affirmed that the RSS volunteers assist where needed but maintain that each organization is capable of managing its affairs independently.
