GPT Infraprojects stock rises 10% after order win
Shares of GPT Infraprojects rose by nearly 10% on March 20, reaching an intraday high of ₹107.50. This increase follows the company announcing a significant contract worth ₹481.11 crore from CAO Construction for a railway bridge project in Kolkata. The stock gained 9.69% during the trading session. This increase is part of a trend, as the shares have climbed over 9% in the last five trading days. The company stated that it was awarded the contract as the lowest bidder. The project involves building an important bridge over the River Rupnarayan, which includes various construction elements for railway services along the Howrah-Kharagpur route. In its latest financial results, GPT Infraprojects showed a 45.51% increase in its net profit for December 2024, reaching ₹21.86 crore. Sales also grew by 11.08% to ₹273.36 crore compared to the previous year. However, the company's earnings per share (EPS) declined to ₹1.73 from ₹2.58 year-on-year. Overall, GPT Infraprojects has seen impressive growth. Over the past three years, its stock has increased by 476.31%, and it has skyrocketed by more than 2500% in five years.
