Grand Rapids summer jobs program reopens for 2025
Grand Rapids has reopened its summer jobs program for 2025, allowing residents aged 15 to 24 to apply for positions by April 25. The program, GRow1000, aims to provide work experience and skills development. Since its launch in 2020, the initiative has employed 1,150 young people. This year, over 100 participants will be hired for a six-week program from June 9 to July 18, earning $13 an hour for 20 hours a week. The program includes paid workshops on social, financial, and workplace skills. Community partners will manage the program, and businesses can support it by offering job placements or financial donations.
