Greater Manchester mayor raises concerns over potential TfGM strikes ahead of bus service overhaul
Greater Manchester's mayor expressed concern over potential strikes by Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) staff just weeks before a major bus service overhaul. The strikes are scheduled for December 12-15 due to a pay dispute. On January 5, 2025, the Bee Network will take over bus services in southern Greater Manchester, completing the transition to public control. This change will affect all bus services in the region. TfGM officials anticipate "teething problems" during the transition. They noted that lessons learned from earlier phases will help manage issues, and passengers will soon be able to use contactless cards on all buses and trams.
